Thailand Trip.
Sooo I really want to start doing reviews of some of the beautiful places we stay so might Aswell start now.
So first up getting there (To Thailand) was a complete mission. Restrictions eased a few days after I landed but the Thailand travel hoops to jump through at that time were crazy . I won’t bore you with all the stages since its not relevant anymore but its like they wanted to make it impossible . Visa situation took about 3 weeks in total to sort for full certificate of entry etc . BASICALLY LONG AND BORING BYEEE
On the way I stopped in Dubai for 20 hours ( Which made it extra long) because our apartment has expired ( We moved back to Uk for my BF work contact and still stuck here ) all my clothes and belongings are in my friends spare room squished up in suitcases .Which sends me sideways when I think of that) I just grabbed a couple of handbags that I was finding it hard to live without . I miss Dubai life in general TBH not too long now tho .
My Girlfriend moved to Thailand a year ago when she met her new boyfriend and no one had ever seen her again. Like are you even alive honeyyyy? So after a late night phone convo I was like “yolo I’m gonna catch a flight” . Then it took the 3 weeks fml , none of the one day movement vibes I much prefer.
Anyway I booked Banyan Tree because I wanted to do a super spiritual vibes , early mornings , healthy foods , yoga , massages , exploration and on the other end of the spectrum wanted to smash onlyfans out ;p .
The Resort was massive – Need a bicycle to peddle around. As soon as I saw the villa I was like YAS that’s a vibe.
One thing I would say is that I booked the most expensive one but they are actually all the same . The only difference was ours had lagoon behind and others didn’t . The actual layout was exactly the same . (I’m not saying that as a flex, I’m saying it like don’t bother , just book any – all lush ;P )
Anyway it was massive and the dressing room was big , outdoor petal bath , very big private pool , outside dining area for them romantic meals which were actually gossip/catchup/world domination/law of attraction convo meals but same-same. 100/10
The breakfast was an impressive large spread and we chose to sit outside everyday for that. So we could watch the beautiful world while we catch a vibe and overdose on fresh fruit juices.
If you stay I would definalty recommend the floating breakfast in your villa too. It wasn’t like the insta pics tho tbh – I mean it looked the part but it started torrential rain pour as it arrived hahah so it was a soggy / clingfilm flex. The actual breakfast was a lot nicer than the breakfast restaurant though.
I find Thai people extremely warm and caring people. And the staff at Banyan really confirmed that for me. They seem such loving souls. I really feel for Thailand the COVID S*** really hit them hard. The resort was perfect but walking round actual Phuket strip was really evidential to the fact. The Streets were empty , There were so many people out tying to make money selling food / coconuts / toys basically everything but zero tourists to buy them. Very sad to see.
Omg guys I can’t believe I’m writing this but its about 3 months later and I forgot finish the article lol so here I am
Anyway overall , I would defo stay there again . But next Time would love to take the full family. I wish I had used the amenities more , rode the bicycle properly and not just for pics lol , used the spa on the resort which I didn’t get a chance to this time. But we went to other ones in the city.
If I am honest I love Thai food when I’m in other parts of the world but I dont really enjoy proper Thaifood in Thailand . I don’t know why and I wish I did . I Love papaya for breakfast though .
This time we had a peaceful time and the excursion trips to the islands ect were still closed due to Covid pfft. So we didn’t really go anywhere other than in to Phuket a couple times . My previous trips to Thailand have been more action packed and Dora Explorer vibes . This is the only vacation in 5 years that I have planned and been on myself without my bf with me so Im probs just dead at planning lol.
But we had the best time just catching up and enjoying the nature and going for massages and healthy eating.
I know for some people Thailand is there fave location. For me It’s just not. Last time we came we booked for 3 weeks and ended up going home to Dubai after 10 days. BUT saying that we made mega memories on that vacation . Paradise beach , hired a private boat with another couple , did a few days on the crazy party island although we were doing dry January but still caught a vibe , did the monkey and James Bond island and managed to do a fitness camp everyday too . And saw a couple shows .
Actually this time on my final day I found the most incredible town / modern beautiful place that is actually 5 mins from Banyan Tree . Katie Salmon had already left that morning so Went alone but I would of loved more time there . Let me try find its name for you .
For Thailand recommendation I would defo check Kaz Crosslys page on instagram tbh. She posted some fire locations recently.
Anyway out of 10 for the following this time around :
Banyan Tree Staff 11/10
Banyan Tree location 8/10
Banyan Tree resort amenities 8.5/10
Banyan Tree private Villa 10/10
Banyan Tree food – Breakfast 8.5/10. other food 6.9/10
Overall stay was beautiful and 9/10 . Just wish more of Thailand was open x
