I did not know what to expect in Brazil but it certainly wasn’t this .. WOW what a location !!!! My experience was so unreal there it impelled me to write ny first blog in a year ;p
Ok guys so Brazil was never a place on my bucket list . In fact I always thought it would be too dangerous and I never even wanted to go . I wanted to book a random vacation and my boyfriend suggested there , he had been a few times already and said its his happy place and he wanted to show me so YOLO we went .
Anyway I would definitely recommend that you leave your jewellery at home and not to enter favelas ( unless its a guided tour one) but I felt very safe .
It is the only place in the world I have ventured to that I felt Completely off the grid. What a slice of heaven .
I’m going to give some recommendations next
So firstly lets start with food recommendations ….
Before we get to the fancy restaurants let me just tell you , my fave thing to do there is walk down the beach front and go to the food carts . There is hundreds of local people selling the most wonderful treasures and edible delights …. The acai wow , I realise now any acai I have had before is a fraud . We legit ate about 3 acai each a day . They are so addictive ! With milk powder and granola oooh Lala . My other fave thing on the beach was the corn . And the Grilled halloumi cheese was 10/10 too . My fave days we spent there were drinking cocktails on the beachfront in the Sun and just vibeing there. Really unmatched .
But if your looking for the fancy / good restaurant places then allow me to assist 😀 …
- One restaurant we found was like Aladins treasure trove . It had the most extensive buffet with everything you can imagine there and the energy was through the roof . Then they bring round various meats , fishes , lobsters and other seafoods to every table . They put a flag on each table of the country that your from too which I thought was such a cute thing and whenever they get a tip they ring the bell. I left feeling about 20KG heavier . We found it on TikTok actually , Its name was Marius Degustare.
Sun-kissed and carefree in Rio de Janeiro
I am going to skip to the hotel recommendation and then back to the restaurants because some of the wonderful food places were in the hotel.
Copacabana Palace
Finding this hotel ( its not very hidden tbf ) but finding this was sensational and really made my trip. It is literally a palace, with Michelin star restaurants, a big beautiful pool area with weekend brunches by the poolside , spa , salon , gym, tennis courts. Just everything I could of wanted right on the beach front. And the iconic Sir Paul McCartney was staying there at the same time, just to make it even more enchanted. It has a Gucci boutique and Dior pool club / beach club . Very aesthetically pleasing and it was just the best ambience to step back in to after all the explorations of the day.
ts home to Italian Cipriani and also a Pan Asian restaurant MEE. My absolute fave place to eat in there was actually the buffet by the pool. Dress to impress there.
That would be my only hotel recommendation. We stayed at another one before there and it was basically the same price but not worth mentioning in comparison.
I also wanted to see the famous touristy bits which we did too . My fave been the red stairs actually. It was so vibrant and so much going on there . And also close and easy to get to. We also did the Christ the Redeemer which was breathtaking but so so busy with all the tourists , although it was a fun adventure to get there with the beautiful views on the glass train.
GONNA ADD A YOUTUBE VID HERE SOON
